Established in 1997, King’s International College with campuses at Reedy Creek and Burleigh is recognised for delivering quality training in the health, children’s services, tourism, automotive and hospitality sectors.
As King’s is a community focused non-profit organisation its surplus funds made from training delivery goes back to either improving or expanding the college’s range of courses or goes into its community welfare organisation , the Community Support Agency (CSA)
The Community Support Agency provides counselling, migrant and homeless services and emergency assistance to Gold Coast families, in addition to administering State and Federally funded employment and training for disenfranchised youth and indigenous peoples.
The Gold Coast’s own unique demographic reveals the needs for a community-focused training organisation like King’s.
Most residents have come from interstate and overseas to live here and because they are relatively new arrivals, a large number don’t have the social support network.
This is at the heart of what makes King’s different; it is part of an integrated organisation that helps Gold Coasters at so many different levels – spiritually through King’s Christian Centre church, physically through the church and the CSA and educationally through the Kings Christian School and King’s International College.
The diversity of world class experience with the common desire to build a solid, stable and thriving community in the city also provides excellent opportunities to create national benchmarks.
Through King’s initiatives and the support of government and private enterprise partnerships, the Gold Coast has the opportunity to create centres of excellence in fields as diverse as automotive and nursing.
Those are skills that not only help build industry and therefore employment to the Gold Coast but they are also skills that can be exported over the globe to help build a better world.
