Indigenous Students Graduate with a Nationally Accredited Qualification School of Community Services
Nine Home and Community Care workers received their Certificate III in Home and Community Care at a special graduation ceremony held on the 14th of September at the Reedy Creek campus on the Gold Coast.
The successful graduates were from the Bur-Del Cooperative Advancement Society in Ayr, Far North Queensland. Situated on the north side of the mighty Burdekin River, 85 kilometres south of Townsville, this prosperous rural community of Ayr is the main town in the Burdekin Shire.
The course was fully funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing under the Community Aged Care Workforce Development Program with the training provided by King’s International College Gold Coast.
The program focused on enhancing the skills and knowledge of aged care workers who provide home based care to frail older Australians with complex care needs.
The program targets aged care workers employed in services approved to provide Australian Government subsidised care packages such as Community Aged Care Packages (CACPs), Extended Aged Care at Home (EACH) and Extended Aged Care at Home Dementia (EACH-D).
King’s International College continues to deliver this much needed Nationally Accredited qualification throughout Queensland.
