Ps. Kindah has an amazing track record, having established and grown two churches in New Zealand and now is at the helm of the King’s Group - a sizeable organization with a staff compliment of over 339 in total.

Kindah has a passion to see King’s continue to grow and fulfil all that God has planned for His church. Kindah’s vision sets King’s apart as a church that will continue to reach into the future. He has a leadership style of encouragement and empowerment and he desires to see generations transcend all boundaries in order to raise up the leaders, teachers, evangelists, prophets and apostles of tomorrow.

Joan is a vital member of the pastoral care team, Part of her duty of care is the “Distinguished Group” comprising the more mature people of King’s. She is known for her compassion and the ability to recognise the needs of others, unspoken and otherwise. Her tenacity and practical appliance to reach out is foundational to her ministry. Joan is active in visiting those in hospital or at home sick and is at the coal face of the Lord’s pastoral care work at King’s. When she isn’t hard at work at home she will accompany her husband, Kindah on his overseas trips where she is called upon to speak at conference gatherings and women’s meetings.

Russ is a home-grown shepherd of the King’s flock. He has been a faithful servant and overseer of God’s people in this local house of worship for over 20 years. Starting out as the School Chaplain, Russ’ heart for God and God’s people was so apparent. He continue to lead and guide the flock with a steadfast love that gives the people of King’s a deep sense of security and knowledge of their value. God has taken Russ’ humble beginnings as a brickie and built him into a pillar of strength. Russ is also the Pastor-in-charge of Ps. Chris and Charm Gleeson of King’s North, Ps. Craig & Virginia Donovan in Life Groups, Fred Costa with New Beginnings, Fred Grigg with the Home and Hospital Visitation and Ps. Mike Shambrook and Men’s Groups, as well as keeping an eye on the chaplaincy of King’s Christian College. Ps Russ does more than talk the talk – he walks the walk, shining his love and faith actively in the community. He is approaching his third year as Chaplain to the Gold Coast Jetstar Titans. His favour with this team led to him being asked to act as Chaplain to the NRL World Cup in November 2008. Russ was also recently invited to serve as Chaplain to the Mudgeeraba Returned and Services League (RSL). Russ takes on this enormous task by the grace of God and with the support of his faithful and rock-steady wife Jenny whose gentle spirit can take effect simply by being in her presence.

Michael & his lovely wife Marj have a home of eight children, two teenagers and older, which has been a proving ground for Michael’s role as pastor. Michael’s good nature, ready smile, empathy, wisdom and reliance on the leading of the Spirit make him the perfect “grassroots” pastor. Mike has also experienced the pain and grief of losing a loved one. Through this Mike has learned to trust in God and not to lean on his own understanding. It has also given him a deeper sense of empathy and ability to discern the needs of others. Mike’s empathy has drawn him into the role of heading up the area of Grief Assist with the assistance of his wife Marj. They are also active in the music ministry, blessing many with their variety of talents. Mike is an honourary member of King’s “Distinguished Group" and can be found wherever there is a need. And to add to his varied ministry, Michael has been called to be Chaplain to the U20’s Titan’s team.

Craig and Virginia pastor the young people in King’s from teens through to young adults. They are a formidable team with different gifts that compliment the whole growth and flourishing of the younger generation of King’s. They are a testimony to the strength and power of small groups within a church environment and have instilled that culture into the young people. As this area of their ministry has shown fruit, they have been called on to oversee the Life Group ministry for the whole church. Anyone who has been at King’s for any period of time can witness to the fact that Craig and Gin have the right combination to inspire people. They have taught the youth to grow into fine young adults living for Christ and to move onward to leaders, teachers, parents and people who will make a difference in the world today, Wherever they are, there is action – and a lot of it! It could be music or food (both spiritual and natural), or crazy games and surfing (waves and the Bible,) sometimes skydiving, sometimes dive-in-movies at their home, sometimes contemplation, but always real, relationship-building and always God-learning.

James and Stephanie joined us here at King’s in 2007, and have seen each creative department grow and thrive. James is a talented and accomplished musician, having studied classical music since the age of seven, and recently completing a Bachelor of Popular Music. Together, James and Stephanie oversee all the creative departments of the church, including music, dance, drama, production, stage design, and media. They have a passion to see the Gospel presented in a creative and impacting way for the furthering of His kingdom, and for His glory.

Renee’s passion for children stirred in her at a young age. Wasting no time, she went straight to uni after completing Year 12 at King’s Christian College, to study and obtain her teaching degree. Renee secured a post at King’s Christian College teaching primary school children. Her passion to see children grow in the ways of the Lord, combined with her creativity in teaching, paved the way to Renee taking on the role of heading up King’s kinds – our primary aged children’s ministry. Renee has the ability to inspire the children to take on the challenge of learning and then teaching others. Her love and passion for this ministry has encouraged many of the youth to get on board and help her under gird the next generation!! Almost makes one want to be a kid again!!

Before Rees became Principal of King’s Christian College (2001), he was King’s Head of High School and, going further back, was a geologist with Mt. Isa mines. Under his leadership the College has continued to grow to one of the largest independent Christian schools in the nation (almost 1500 students). Rees has a love of academia and equipping young people and families. With the support of his wife Karen, they host the occasional early morning family service which includes a delicious breakfast and real life illustrations that minister to all ages.

Guy is “in his element” as King’s Christian College Chaplain. He has a real evangelist’s heart with a passion to see people come to know the Lord – school kids are his speciality! Guy frequently speaks in the weekly chapel sessions at school, regularly counsels students and each year he organises and takes a sizeable group of students and staff to the Hillsong Conference in Sydney. Guy has also headed up a number of mission trips, taking a group of school students overseas to third world countries where the power of the love of Jesus is demonstrated to the students and the people they minister to. Guy’s cool surfer look (and abilities!) are only a glimmer of his appeal – it’s his raw and unashamed love of the gospel of Jesus Christ that makes the difference. He and his wife Debbie have had a lasting impact on many young lives and that is just the beginning!

Brendon is one who makes sense out of all the cents and is well qualified to do so. He is the “cheques and balances” man who ensures that King’s is fiscally responsible with the Lord’s provision. Brendon’s professionalism and astute acumen are a real asset to the church body as well as to King’s international College and the school. Brendon’s steadfastness and consistent personality compliment his financial qualifications, giving a firm financial foundation to our church.

Pastors Chris and Charm have been in ministry for 22 years, have been married for 31 and have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. They know the value of strong family foundations and the impact that has on the community and the future. They conduct marriage seminars and education using Bless Marriage Enhancement resources. Their enthusiasm for people and relationships has been unleashed at King’s North as they work together as a team to guide and inspire people into a fuller life in Christ.
